James Smits, Smitty, is asked by his principal to be the lead teacher to a last minute student-teacher placement from the University. He reluctantly agrees, concerned that he has limited experience to share. He realizes the assignment is harder than he thought as Glen is struggling with some issues around how he is treated by his father. Glen’s straight forward disagreement with anything outside of how he believes classrooms should be run, causes Smitty to dig deep and defend why he runs his classroom the way he does.
