The History Of The Papal States From Their Origin To The Present Day John Miley 9781344759809 Books
The book listed here is a reprint of Volume III (of a three-volume set) only. Not sure why the first two volumes have not (yet?) been reprinted by Kessinger Publishing. It was originally published in 1850.As such, this volume covers only the period from Alexander III (pope from 1159-1181) to the Revolutions of 1848-49 and their immediate aftermath.
The reader should also be aware that this book, while very informative, is written in a florid, Victorian-style English typical for 1850. This can make for somewhat difficult reading for those of us used to more straightforward 21st Century-style prose.
